Biography
Dr. Ricardo Alvarez completed residencies in internal medicine and medical oncology at Centro Oncológico de Excelencia in Gonnet, Argentina, followed by a residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center UTHealth Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences in Houston, Texas. He then completed a fellowship in hematology/oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Later in his career, he earned a Master of Science in Cancer Biology at the University of Texas Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences in Houston.
Dr. Alvarez has written more than 100 articles, abstracts, and book chapters, and his research studies have been published in many peer-reviewed journals. He regularly presents his work at national and international conferences.
He currently serves as a clinical assistant professor of medicine at Georgia Regents University in Georgia. Prior to his current appointment, he was an assistant professor of breast medical oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, and he also served as an assistant professor with the Morgan Welch Inflammatory Breast Cancer Research Program and Clinic in Houston, Texas.
Currently, Dr. Alvarez practices at Oncology Consultants where his practice primarily focuses on the treatment of advanced breast cancer.
